Professional Legal English Language & Practical Skills Training

Legal English for your daily professional life! In Lawbility’s Legal English Programme you will practice your professional legal English and legal English terminology in business situations. With guidance from English-speaking coaches you will engage in exercises geared toward handling situations that arise in your legal practice and learn how to competently and confidently use your legal skills in your professional life in Switzerland. These skills will boost your confidence in using legal English.

The course is aimed at:

• practicing lawyers in a law firm, in-house legal professionals and lawyers in the public administration or working at the court,
• who have a good command of general English (skill level at least B1) and
• with ideally first practical experiences in legal English.

Language Focus
Training professional legal English in business situations and professional correspondence.

Legal Focus
Overview and examples of the application of Swiss and international legal terminology in English.

Practice Focus
Training in negotiation, drafting correspondence, and contracts (oral communication & legal writing).

• The course language is English.
• «Professional Legal Language Exam» (120 minutes in writing) can be booked as an option.
